As Aquam Corporation Continues to Service World’s Aging Infrastructure, Simon Wick Joins Subsidiary Aquam Pipe Diagnostics (APD) as General Manager

— The Leading Pipeline Inspection Technology & Service Firm to Strengthen Its International Impact

San Diego, CA – November 30th, 2018 – Today, Aquam Corporation (“Aquam”) announced that it has appointed Simon Wick the General Manager for Aquam Pipe Diagnostics (APD), its pipeline diagnostics subsidiary. An internationally recognized water industry expert of nearly 30 years, Simon brings his wealth of experience in non-revenue water reduction, infrastructure asset management, and risk mitigation. This further strengthens APD’s global impact with its first-in-class technology and services targeted at the live inspection of aging pipeline infrastructure worldwide.

Simon transitioned from Matchpoint Water Asset Management, an APD client, where he was responsible for non-revenue water reduction, infrastructure failure risk mitigation, as well as expanding its footprint to the Western US. “We are delighted to have Simon aboard. Simon’s experience in the industry and his business acumen are a natural fit with Aquam.” Says Dan Squiller, CEO of Aquam. “Together, we look forward to delivering more innovative pipeline diagnostics solutions to utilities and other sectors.”

Prior to Matchpoint, Simon held sales, project management, and field engineering positions at Halma Water Management (formerly Palmer Environmental) in the UK. He started his career at Cambridge Water Plc where he rose through the ranks to the position of Chief Inspector. While at Cambridge Water Plc, Simon focused on leading his team and executing District Metered Area tests and innovative leak detection practices. He left behind the lowest ever recorded level of water loss the company had witnessed.

The world continues to tackle the aging infrastructure problem, and the US will need trillions of dollars to upgrade its water and wastewater infrastructure, according to the recently released Fourth National Climate Assessment. It is therefore paramount for utilities to have the technology and expertise advisory necessary to prioritize their Capital Improvement Programs (CIP), reduce the risk of infrastructure failure and lower losses from non-revenue water. Simon’s leadership skills and industry knowledge are a great fit with APD’s vision as he has led a diverse array of asset management projects, each designed to Prioritize capital asset investments, reduce the risk of failure and save overall costs for utilities, contractors and engineers.

“I am excited about leading the APD team and bringing our innovative technologies to accurately assess utilities’ live pipeline infrastructure without disrupting their operations,” says Simon. “We are eager to propagate a movement of using data-driven tools for water and wastewater utilities to save resources and costs. With the capabilities of pipe condition assessment, live leak detection and visual assessment, I am here with my team to help the world’s utilities cost-effectively understand, manage, and improve their pipeline assets.”
